BCA works collaboratively with its partners to conserve and enhance the environment and heritage of Brownhill Creek Recreation Park / Wirraparinga, foster education, wellbeing and community connections, promote nature-based tourism and advocate on behalf of the community.
I totally support the other options available to prevent flooding at Brown Hill Creek – increased channel upgrades, high flow bypass culverts, channel clearing, small detention basisns/wetlands, revegetation of cleared rural parts of catchment, improving building regulations to flood proof new buildings and an effective flood- safe programme. Brown Hill creek is unique, it is a place of great beauty and spiritual power and it and its ecology and its residents need to be respected when seeking a solution to flooding. The options above, are realistic and effective solutions to flooding that will not destroy the creek, the environment, or the beauty of this place. Please do not damn Brown Hill Creek.
